Chapter 1: Chapter 1

"Um...Alison?"

Alison straightened up, having been looking through the oven's window. "Yes?"

Cosima fidgeted with the cloth napkin that had been folded. "What are you cooking?"

"Chicken and rice casserole." Alison shooed the woman's hands away from the napkins, sighing and refolding the one the student had began to unfold.

"Um...no." Cosima frowned. "Delphine doesn't eat casseroles."

Alison gave her a look as she began to chop up tomatoes for a fresh salad. "Well it's a good thing I don't alter my meal decisions for liars and spies."

"What is that supposed to m..."

"Oh great, dinner is started." Felix entered the room, setting a box of wine bottles on the counter. "What are we having?"

"Chicken and rice casserole." Alison repeated, her actions becoming slightly more rigid and hurried as she moved on to a few cucumbers.

Felix looked between the two women. "Really?" He asked, casting a look towards the stove.

Cosima gave him a tight lipped look as she retrieved the corkscrew and opened one of the bottles.

"Something smells good in here, yeah?" Sarah stuck her head in, surprised at the gathering she found in the kitchen.

Alison grit her teeth as she reached past Cosima for a large salad bowl, beginning to tear the lettuce and mixing in the chopped vegetables.

"Alison is making a casserole." Felix commented, a grin on his face as he began filling the glasses Cosima retrieved.

"A casserole?" Sarah looked from face to face. "Really?"

"YES!" Alison yelled over the voices. "I am making a GD casserole and if any of you don't like it you can leave!"

"What is a casserole?" Delphine entered, having heard the loud voices.

Her eyes wide in disbelief, Alison looked at Cosima.

"Ok, maybe I don't eat casseroles?" She commented in an unsure tone.

When Alison rose her knife, everyone stepped back, afraid of the look of rage on the suburban soccer mom's face.

"Um...Let's go smoke...I'll eat anything when I'm high." Cosima commented to Felix who grabbed their wine.

"Not in the house!" Alison yelled as the group left.

"What is a casserole?" Delphine asked again, this time softer, leaning towards Cosima.
